据了解，这是武吉阿曼警察总部指示的扣留行动。陈云清被扣留后，一度被扣留在威中警局，但在晚上11时10分左右被带走，目前还不确定是被带到乔治市的槟州警察总部还是吉隆坡的武吉阿曼警察总部。
据《独立新闻在线》了解，陈云清（右图）今天休假，回返大山脚老家，结果在今晚8时30分左右在老家被扣留；警方告诉她的家人，警方是援引《内安法令》扣留她。
《1960年内安法令》第73（1）条款授权警方可在没有逮捕令的情况下逮捕或扣留破坏或可能破坏马来西亚的安全的人。
陈云清毕业于马来西亚理科大学传播学院，从事新闻工作已有九年；在加入《星洲日报》之前，曾任《光华日报》记者。她现任槟城中文报记者及摄影记者协会理事会。
据了解，《星洲日报》已经委托律师向警方了解情况。
巫统槟州升旗山区部主席阿末依斯迈于8月24日在槟州大山脚甘榜比乐演讲时，发表“华人只是‘寄居’在马来西亚，因此不可能做到各族平等”；他也对群众说：“华人是否能够公平分配财富给我们呢？如果今天你居住在华人家庭，你相信他们能够公平对待你们吗？”
8月25日（槟州峇东埔国会议席补选前夕），《星洲日报》在第八版报道了阿末依斯迈的言论，题为《阿末依斯迈：不可能平等 “华人仅寄居大马”》。陈云清是负责撰写这则新闻的记者。
备受讨伐的阿末依斯迈坚持不道歉，并将“华人寄居论”事件归咎于记者歪曲其言论。

不过，陈云清后来发表“采访手记”，坚持“我没听错”，阿末依斯迈的确说了“华人只是寄居在这里”（orang Cina cuma tumpang di sini），所以不可能做到各族平等；而阿末依斯迈说出这番话时，在场的副首相纳吉“脸部没有什么表情”。【点击《星洲日报》：采访手记‧记者：我没听错！】
内政部昨天指示《星洲日报》、英文《太阳报》（The Sun）及人民公正党党报《公正之声》在一周内解释它们的出版准证为何不应被吊销。
警方今天下午已援引《内安法令》扣留了《今日马来西亚》（Malaysia Today）网站主编拉惹柏特拉，内政部长赛哈密过后证实，警方是基于拉惹柏特拉威胁安全、和平及公共秩序，而援引《内安法令》第73（1）条款扣留拉惹柏特拉，后者将被扣留60天。【点击：警方援引《内安法令》 拉惹柏特拉被扣留60天】

If the Chinese in Malaysia want to protest n try to get justice done, then Adullah will be most happy, then he will declared state emergency and the whole Malaysia will be put under cuffew and anybody want to say anything against the government will be arrested... that time, no need to talk about news freedom and rights for the Chinese ~~ coz the govt is right... =P

Mr Badawi must be thinking hard how to get Xu Zhi Gen and also now Wang Jia Ding together with their chinese supporters to stay with UMNO now ...serve him right lah...haha..=)
Recently news reported that 916 may be postponed as a lot of them are in Taiwan doing "agriculture research" ...hahaha.. =)
