Please seek and support alternative media

The mainstream media has not changed at all despite the people's power that had changed the political landscape. I think the next target is to neutralize the govt-controlled press and promote and support alternative media.

Just read and contrast these two separate press reports on the same issue (PAS Hadi Awang's statement):

I would urge everyone to subscribe to the online MalaysiaKini. It's only RM150 per year which works out to be about 41 sen a day. They need to be sustained through subscriptions and we ought to support them.

For those of you who called me to find out the election results on 8 March evening, you know by now that MalaysiaKini was the one that provided the latest info from the ground and quick results, which we did not get in such a timely manner from the mainstream media, be it the press or national tvs simply because they did not want to break the bad news fast. You would have noticed that the initial results by these media showed only BN victories, mainly from Sabah & Sarawak! Probably they thought the BN machineries could somehow change the unfavourable results!

Enough is enough! Seek news elsewhere! We are living in a highly transparent ICT world! Probably, the reason BN won big in Sabah & Sarawak is that people there are not well exposed. Therefore, I shall urge all to help create awareness among our brothers and sisters in East Malaysia about alternative media.
